What is Memory Care?

Memory Care is a form of specialized care that caters to individuals with Alzheimer's disease, other related dementias, and other memory concerns. Driven by passion, knowledge, experience, research, and partnership, we created the North Star Memory Care and Brain Health Programs at Laurel Heights with you in mind.

Care You Can Count On

Person-centred care is more than just words - it is a lived experience. It is based on values, compassion, empathy, respect, love, and dignity, and its essence is woven into each of the four pillars of the Laurel Heights Memory Care Program: a warm and caring home, holistic assistance programs, meaningful relationships, and safe, quality care.

Personalized care has driven the development of this program, from the physical design of our space to our care partner training and the various offerings we provide to residents at Laurel Heights. We will support you through an individualized approach in which you will have a say in each decision regarding your care. We want to know your story, who you are, what you like, what you hope for, and how you want to live.

"My aunt has lived in the Memory Care Unit, the Boulevard, for the past year. All staff were always helpful and kind to her and her visitors. When necessary, they informed us of any issues but were willing and able to handle them as required. The building and her suite were kept clean and well-maintained. We only have good things to say about Laurel Heights!"

-Carol Peters

"My mom has her own apartment, a living room, a bedroom, and this beautiful huge bathroom. As soon as I saw it I thought I never knew a place like this existed and right then and there I said yes. Laurel Heights has been excellent at supporting myself and my family in the process of my mother moving in."

-Gail Jennings

"As mom declined cognitively and needed more care…we were able to move her to the Memory Care Boulevard [at Laurel Heights]. She has experienced very attentive care catered to her needs…Mom is known and greeted by all the staff throughout Laurel Heights by first name, which makes her feel very loved and cared for. We are very happy with her current living situation and the care she receives."
